An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings and infrastructure projects. This role ensures that all systems are integrated and perform efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret MEP designs and drawings.
Coordinate and manage MEP installation activities on-site.
Ensure all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, fire protection, plumbing, etc.) are installed and function correctly.
Monitor the progress of work and ensure compliance with specifications and project timelines.
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other specialists to integrate systems smoothly.
Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of systems.
Prepare technical reports, shop drawings, and material submittals.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers for technical clarifications.
Solve engineering problems and troubleshoot design and system failures.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and sustainability requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in MEP engineering (preferably in construction or consultancy).
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office. Knowledge of BIM is an advantage.
Understanding of relevant codes (ADDC, DEWA, etc.).
Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
