Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. Routine Inspection of LPG Installations

Inspect LPG tanks (above/underground), vaporizers, regulators, and valves. Check pipeline integrity, supports, and protection. Verify condition of pressure relief valves, gauges, and fittings.

2. Maintenance Supervision

Oversee and verify preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Ensure technicians follow safety procedures and standard practices. Approve repairs and confirm system readiness after maintenance.

3. Leak Detection & Safety Checks

Conduct leak tests using detectors or soap solution. Ensure proper functioning of emergency shutoff valves. Check ventilation, fire extinguisher availability, and safety distances.

4. Compliance & Standards Verification

Ensure all work complies with:

NFPA 58 (LPG Code) NFPA 54 / IFC (Fuel Gas Code) Local civil defense / municipality regulations Equipment manufacturer specifications

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare daily site inspection reports. Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) where needed. Maintain maintenance logs and checklists. Document test results (pressure test, leak test, regulator function test).

6. Customer- & Site-Focused Tasks

Communicate findings to customers and site managers. Explain safety risks and required corrective actions. Coordinate with operations, installation, and emergency response teams.

Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills

Knowledge of LPG systems, regulators, tanks, vaporizers, piping. Understanding of safety codes and gas industry standards. Experience with maintenance procedures and risk assessments.

Soft Skills

Strong observation and reporting ability. Good communication with customers and internal teams. Problem-solving and incident response capability.

Certifications (Typical)

LPG Installation / Maintenance Inspector Certification. Gas Technician or Gas Fitter certification. HSE certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH). Fire safety certification (depending on region).
