to assess actual work conditions and coordinate with engineers, quantity surveyors, and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct
on-site measurements
and collect data to prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting.
Analyze
drawings, specifications, and site conditions
to assess project requirements.
Prepare
BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
based on approved drawings and scope of work.
Work closely with
site engineers, project managers, and procurement teams
to obtain accurate information.
Assist in preparing
tender documents
, project budgets, and pricing proposals.
Update estimates based on design changes, site variations, or unforeseen conditions.
Identify potential
cost-saving opportunities
without compromising quality or safety.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and compare costs.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of
market prices
for materials and labor.
Support in project planning by providing
accurate quantity take-offs
and cost data.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering
,
Quantity Surveying
, or related field.
Minimum
3-5 years of experience
as an estimator in construction, preferably with
on-site estimation
background.
Proficient in
AutoCAD
, MS Excel, and estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, CostX).
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Good knowledge of
construction materials, methods, and local pricing
.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
