A Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing sheet metal products and structures. This role involves working from technical drawings and blueprints to create metal components used in construction, HVAC, automotive, marine, and manufacturing industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Measure, cut, bend, roll, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
Operate equipment such as shears, press brakes, rollers, and welding machines.
Assemble, weld, rivet, or fasten sheet metal parts to form finished products.
Ensure accuracy and quality of fabricated components.
Conduct finishing tasks like grinding, polishing, or coating.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Repair or modify existing sheet metal components when required.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a sheet metal fabricator or similar role.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements.
Skilled in using fabrication tools and machinery.
Knowledge of welding, soldering, or riveting techniques.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices.
