Job Description

The Job Controller is responsible for planning, allocating, and monitoring workshop jobs to ensure smooth workflow, maximum productivity, and timely completion of vehicles. Acting as a central point between service advisors, technicians, and management, the Job Controller ensures quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule, allocate, and monitor daily jobs for all workshop technicians. Track job progress and ensure adherence to promised delivery times. Conduct pre-job checks (parts availability, job card accuracy, technical requirements) before assigning tasks. Verify post-job completion (quality checks, test drives, and documentation) before delivery. Ensure proper utilization of manpower and resources to maximize efficiency. Coordinate with service advisors and foreman to communicate job status to customers. Handle urgent jobs, rescheduling, and priority changes effectively. Monitor technicians' performance and provide daily utilization/productivity reports. Support the workshop in diagnosing delays, technical challenges, and process bottlenecks. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturer standards. Assist in training and mentoring technicians to improve efficiency.
Requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering (preferred). 3-5 years of experience in an automotive service environment. Strong knowledge of workshop processes, job flow, and resource planning. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication skills to coordinate between service advisors, foreman, and technicians. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
