Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are understood and met with exceptional service. This role involves coordinating vehicle repairs, providing technical explanations, and upselling additional services to optimise customer satisfaction and workshop productivity. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a proactive approach to customer service.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and establish a positive rapport to understand their vehicle concerns. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and accurately record customer complaints and service requests. Liaise with technicians to communicate necessary repairs and estimated completion times. Upsell relevant maintenance services and additional repairs based on vehicle condition and customer needs. Handle cash transactions efficiently and accurately, ensuring proper documentation. Provide clear explanations of repair work, costs, and timelines to customers in an understandable manner. Maintain organised records of all service transactions and customer interactions. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage future business.

Experience

Proven experience in a customer service environment, preferably within the automotive industry or a related field. Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with vehicle systems is highly desirable. Experience in upselling services or products effectively while maintaining excellent customer relationships. Competence in cash handling procedures with attention to accuracy and security. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
