Job Description

We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Senior Waiter who is responsible for ensuring diners have a positive experience at food establishments by exhibiting excellent customer service. The Senior Waiter coordinates and supervises the activities of the waitstaff to ensure exceptional service delivery. Acting as a bridge between restaurant management and front-line staff, the senior waiter arranges the dining experience from start to finish.

Key duties & responsibilities

Welcome guests and escort them to their tables Present menus, explain dishes, and recommend specials Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the system, and memorize details Prepare drinks and serve them appropriately Previous waitstaff experience in an upscale or fine dining environment. Delivering food from the kitchen to the guests Evaluate guest satisfaction, address feedback, and resolve complaints Following health code standards with regards to the handling of food Prepare checks, collect payments, and handle billing details Assist in preparing tables for dinner service Train junior staff, assign tasks, and monitor performance Coordinate shifts, manage reservations, and oversee cleanliness.

Experience & Skills

Experience in supervising staff and 2-5 years relevant experience in a similar position Understanding of food safety procedures Maintaining safety standards and portion sizes Familiarity with point-of-sale systems Being dependable and customer-oriented Effective communication with guests and staff Handling complaints professionally Understanding high-end service expectations Ensuring quality service for both in-person and to-go orders Adapting to changing situations Balancing cash drawers and handling payments
