Job Summary:
The Senior Waiter is responsible for providing exceptional guest service, supervising junior waitstaff, and ensuring smooth restaurant operations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and in-depth knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Service:
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, offering menu recommendations.
- Ensure timely and professional service, addressing guest requests promptly.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Train, guide, and mentor junior waitstaff.
- Assign duties and oversee table sections to ensure efficient service.
- Assist in staff scheduling and performance evaluations.
- Ensure tables are set according to restaurant standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure order accuracy and timing.
- Monitor inventory and report shortages (cutlery, glassware, napkins, etc.).
- Process payments and handle cash transactions securely.
- Follow hygiene and food safety regulations (HACCP).
- Ensure compliance with alcohol-serving laws (where applicable).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
