Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of traction power systems for metro operations, including substations, rectifier-transformer units, and distribution systems such as overhead catenary or third rail
• Perform system studies including load flow, short circuit, and harmonic analysis to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Coordinate with rail systems, civil, operations, and other engineering disciplines to deliver fully integrated power solutions
• Assess existing systems and recommend upgrades to support increased capacity, improved headways, and enhanced energy efficiency
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC and IEEE and all applicable local regulatory requirements
• Oversee testing, validation, and commissioning activities including SCADA integration and performance tuning
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams
• Monitor industry developments and apply innovative technologies to improve resilience and sustainability of traction power systems
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and system performance

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in traction power systems for rail or metro projects
• Proven experience on large rail infrastructure programs in a consultancy or client-facing role
• Strong proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools and software
• Solid knowledge of international standards and best practices for metro traction power systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• GCC experience is preferred
