Senior Structural Engineer (Site-Based)

Job Purpose:

The Senior Structural Engineer will oversee all on-site structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards. The role involves close coordination with contractors and internal project teams to ensure timely and technically sound execution of structural activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and monitor all structural construction works on-site to ensure adherence to design, specifications, and safety standards. Review and verify structural shop drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and method statements. Coordinate with consultants and contractors for inspections, approvals, and resolving site technical queries. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress and compliance with project schedules. Identify design discrepancies or site constraints and propose appropriate technical solutions. Ensure the implementation of QA/QC procedures for concrete works, reinforcement placement, formwork, and related activities. Review material submittals and ensure materials comply with project requirements and relevant codes. Prepare and submit site progress reports, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports as required. Liaise with the Planning and Safety teams to ensure timely completion and adherence to HSE standards. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Minimum

10-15 years

of experience, with at least

5 years in the UAE

on large-scale building or mixed-use projects. Strong knowledge of

UAE codes, BS, ACI,

Experience in

high-rise buildings, hotels, or complex structural systems

preferred. Proficient in structural analysis and review of drawings using software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, and AutoCAD. Excellent coordination and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
