Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee all operational aspects of commodity trading contracts, ensuring adherence to commercial terms and company procedures
  • Collaborate with traders, schedulers, and analysts to develop optimal logistical and financial solutions for cargo movements
  • Evaluate all operational costs related to freight, insurance, inspection, and terminal handling, and communicate financial impacts to trading and finance teams
  • Ensure vessels, cargo nominations, and chartering comply with ADNOC's operational and vetting standards
  • Coordinate with service providers including inspectors, agents, and terminals to ensure seamless pre- and post-deal operations
  • Manage the issuance and validation of quality certificates, test samples, and operational documentation
  • Proactively manage demurrage exposure and claims through continuous monitoring and communication with shipping and chartering teams
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays or financial losses
  • Maintain compliance with all legal, customs, and regulatory filing requirements
  • Monitor vessel schedules, loading plans, and cargo rotations to ensure optimal asset utilization
  • Liaise with credit and treasury teams to arrange and validate financial guarantees and ensure timely invoice processing
  • Maintain accurate operational data in the trading systems and provide detailed reporting to management
  • Support the loss control process by managing quality and quantity discrepancies with all stakeholders
  • Contribute to internal audits, performance reviews, and process improvement initiatives within the Trading Operations unit
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in commodity trading, with at least 2 years in trading operations
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and international trade practices
  • Familiarity with legal contracts, Incoterms, and customs regulations
  • Understanding of trading finance, credit, and cost control principles
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
  • Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English
