We are currently recruiting for a Senior Specialist Process Safety for our trusted client to be based out of their office in Dubai.

Purpose-

Lead, Drive and facilitate the development and implementation of robust process safety program aligned with the companies HSE Management system and strategies to assure design integrity, technical integrity and operations integrity and manage process safety risk across businesses globally.

Responsibilities-

• Provide process safety technical leadership & advisory to global operations & capital projects on managing process safety risks, compliance obligations and implementing compliant technical solutions.
• Identify and provide risk-based solutions to complex process safety issues across the group using sound engineering & safety principles, lead & drive the development & implementation of GHSE standards, design specifications, guidelines and assurance plans & protocols and the other program & solutions on process safety.
• Help ensure integration of process safety throughout the lifecycle of capital projects and assure compliance.
• Provide support & advisory to business on process safety implementation, execution and action items closures ( eg tools, processes, risk assessment and acceptance, trainings, auditing, metrics, design specifications etc.).
• Help develop key performance indicators to track the performance & status of process safety across the group.
• Lead/ participate in the GHSE audits and reviews as process safety SME. Develop recommendations and deliver periodic status report on process safety progress.
• Lead/ Participate in the incident investigation as nominated by GHSE.
• Provide deep functional expertise to build process safety capabilities and awareness across the group including designing & delivering specialist certified training programs on process safety (eg. HAZOP, QRA, LOPA, Bow- Ties, MOC etc.).
• Maintain current knowledge of all the associated codes & standards including legal and regulatory requirements related to process safety.
• Manage internal communication in close collaboration with operations, maintenance, engineering, projects, and HSE leadership across the group and external communication with peer companies, contractors and vendors related to client company projects or process safety process.
• Need to make risk-based decisions on process safety related issues and in setting up HSE designs, act as Technical Authority in managing all the process safety risks.
• To select optimum solution from amongst a wide variety of available options through selection of the most appropriate standard/ codes using a risk-based approach.

Skills

• Engineering degree in chemical/mechanical or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas process plants, of which 5 years at least must be in developing & implementing process safety and risk management programs including design reviews
• Direct experience of 3+ years in oil & gas process plant operations and/ or technical services is highly desirable
• Sound knowledge of international HSE codes, proven ability to develop, maintain & implement process safety standards, specifications, guidelines, practices and training & communication programs
• Highly skilled in application of process safety risk assessment tools (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA etc.) and process safety incident investigation.
