Job Description

Job Purpose:

Plan effective implementation Group Asset integrity & Process Safety (AIPS) governance and business operations compliance with ADNOC AIPS requirements and applicable legal legislations as well as provide assessment of Group integrity AIPS performance with in-house AIPS policies, strategies, and standards requirements as a contributory factor to the Management of Major Accident Hazards. Additionally, he or she shall provide advice and guidance on compliance matters relating to AIPS activities

Key Accountabilities:

Job Specific Accountabilities Develop ADNOC Group AIPS Standards, Guidelines, Manuals, Processes, Key Performance Indicators and Governance Requirements as assigned and ensure alignment with ADNOC strategic objective. Lead and Assist in the Development of ADNOC Group AIPS Audit and Assurance plan with clear requirements (e.g., compliance assurance programs, assessment, and validation audits for the organization) Conducts compliance reviews in accordance with established AIPS standards and practices and provide guidance on compliance matters as set out in agreed annual audit plans. Establish, arrange, coordinate, and implement assurance and audits programs activities from third-party organizations. Take part in teams delivering periodic compliance testing/surveillance and ensure successful and timely completion of the compliance program. Monitor and follow up with stakeholders to enable effective and rapid action to be taken to address non-compliance. Prepare periodic AIPS governance implementation status update reports. Prepare periodic AIPS performance update reports. Review and provide technical assessment of all deviation requests to ADNOC Group AIPS standards and other approved processes / requirements. Lead / Contribute to technical reviews covering AIPS requirements (e.g., HSEIA Review, COMAH review, Asset Acquisition Review, AIPS Assessments, etc.). Briefing and reporting to senior management on matters relating to compliance with AIPS policies, strategies, and standards. This is to be done in a clearly to enable effective communication and support effective regulatory decision-making. To co-ordinate ADNOC HQ internal AIPS policy, strategy, and standards compliance activities in areas of responsibility with the various stakeholders as directed. Ensure accurate recording of all activities and interactions key stakeholders to support effective knowledge sharing throughout the organization. Generate ideas and contribute to initiatives to support continuous improvement of AI processes and ways of working to maximize cost reduction and operational effectiveness. Stay abreast of AIPS regulatory and legal developments, interpret, and provide advice across the various departments of the organization. Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding new or emerging global AIS compliance issues and trends. Proactively identify potential and existing risk compliance issues and address them appropriately. Undertake research work in the compliance matters related to AIPS framework and new development. Development of ADNOC Group competency / career development requirements for AIPS positions. Participate in the technical vetting of AIPS technical authorities and technical staff (e.g., interview panel, appointment panel, assessments, etc.). Develop and conduct periodic training, where necessary, for all departments to ensure staff awareness of potential and existing compliance matters applicable to AIPS in area of responsibility. Act as a technical authority for AIPS as assigned in line with ADNOC Technical Authority Framework. Facilitate respective AIPS group communities of practice and coordinate their activities in line with ADNOC guidelines on the subject. Review relevant Group AIPS business plan requirements and where necessary identify areas for optimization. As assigned, participate as a member is governance forums relating to AIPS. As assigned, participate / lead any related management review / assessment (e.g., Incident Investigation, Independent Reviews, etc.). Facilitate means of sharing all related internal / external lessons learned and to discuss potential emerging challenges to ensure consistent improvement of AIPS Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time as directed.

Any Other Key Accountabilities Perform any other key initiatives / projects activities specifically related to the mandate of the ADNOC Group CEO, the Government of Abu Dhabi and the UAE Government as assigned.

Generic Accountabilities

Supervision Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives. Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective business objectives. Budgets Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives. Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards. Performance Management Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/ Division / Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework. Innovation and Continuous Improvement Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes. Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function. Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices. Reports Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline or other related technical disciplines (e.g., risk management) from recognized universities.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills 10 years of relevant experience in risk management, AIPS management and /or audit experience with a strong focus on risks and AIPS management controls. Demonstrated track record in contributing and leading strategic AIPS initiatives. Demonstrated track record at individual contribution in related technical roles. Strong knowledge of ADNOC and international AIPS standards and frameworks. Possess a versatile multi-disciplinary skill set, an ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, business-oriented mind-set, and analytical skills. Excellent oral, interpersonal, and writing skills in English. Preferred excellence oral, interpersonal, and writing skills in Arabic. High ethical standards, strong critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Significant experience in drafting and carrying out research for the purpose of initiating, developing, implementing, and maintaining written policies and procedures with limited supervision. Professional independence: carries out work independently with due care under the direct supervision of the Head of department, Corporate and ultimate leadership of ADNOC. Strong competence in the use of standard software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Internet. Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent deadlines. And strong ability to work flexibly to meet changing priorities for the team and the organization. Able to collect and analyse evidence to identify clearly and potential areas of non-compliance against conditions systematically and objectively. Able to use evidence, analysis, and initiative to solve problems and tackle issues. Able to challenge professionally and influence others, to contribute to effective decision making. Able to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to work collaboratively to achieve objectives. Ability to understand ADNOC HQ strategic context and ensure that all work contributes to the organization's priorities.
