The client is a government related investment entity, focusing on both direct and fund investments with a global mandate.
Conduct in-depth, robust and thorough analysis of new investment transaction proposals as received from the various investment departments. This will include direct and fund investments mainly in Infrastructure and Real Estate assets but also including other private assets (e.g., Private Equity, Private Debt and hedge funds).
Manage the due diligence committee (DDC) process for assigned transactions from submission to the DDC to issuance of the final DDC report by liaising with the various DDC members, the investment departments and DDC Chairman on any potential findings.
Independently write the DDC report for assigned transactions and discuss findings within the Investment Diligence team and with the DDC Chairman.
Analyse and propose solutions to the investment departments to mitigate the identified risks in investments.
Advise the investment departments on the DDC process and provide guidance on the key process steps and timelines (submission requirements, Due Diligence Questionnaire, site visit report, DDC report, timelines, interactions).
Assist and advise investment and support departments on risk management matters.
Act as key point of contact for selected investment departments; represent the risk unit in the weekly team meetings, when possible, of the respective departments.
Advise investment departments on general risk matters such as policies and procedures.
The Successful Applicant
University Degree (MA or MBA) in an investment related field (finance, economics, mathematics, engineering) or CFA and a BA / BSc from a reputable university.
Other additional qualifications are a plus: FRM, CPA.
Between 7-10 years\' experience of hands-on investment analysis of direct private assets, in particular Infrastructure and Real Estate. In-depth knowledge and experience of Private Equity and Private Debt would be a plus.
Work experience within asset management, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, buy-side investment banking or similar.
Basic knowledge and experience of credit analysis of a private company. Experience in assessing and rating company debt, structured transactions and notes is a plus.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting and financial statement analysis.
In-depth knowledge and comprehension of concepts of investment valuation, portfolio management, financial analysis and economics.
