JOB DESCRIPTION BASIC INFORMATION Position Title English Arabic Senior Software Quality Specialist Reporting To Section Manager – Smart Solutions Development Job Code URL 163 Grade 13 Sector – Department Smart Development Section Smart Solutions Development Unit – JOB PURPOSE The role holder is responsible for designing testing scenarios based on business requirements, validating the developed functionalities for production, providing quality control and performing different types of tests in order to deliver successful software solutions for the Smart Development Department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES Daily Operations Conduct daily operations ensuring that work processes are optimally delivered adopting a continuous improvement mindset Provide management information and insights on all dimensions of work area performance to facilitate discussion and decision making, both on a periodic basis and for ad-hoc management requests Job Specific Accountability Understand business requirements and manage the development of testing scenarios and ensures that all application functionalities are covered through the test use cases Develop quality processes and controls to ensure adherence to quality standards Manage the development of test plans, test scripts and test procedures based on application requirements and functionalities. Manage test procedures and reports bugs to the development team managers and ensure that applications pass all the test use cases to meet system requirements. Provide guidance to Senior Engineer / Engineer – Quality Assurance for all needed testing types, e.g., unit, integration, acceptance, and system tests before migration to production environment to ensure glitch free implementation Validate the developed functionality for production in coordination with the Smart Services Department or any other concerned department Provide guidance to Senior Engineer / Engineer – Quality Assurance to develop and maintain testing processes, and recommend improvements or corrections to the process of testing new applications and change requests to ensure quality control. Organize and maintain all quality assurance documentation to ensure consistency in testing process. Stay abreast of latest testing tools in the market and manages the licenses, procurement and deployment of existing testing tools to ensure provision of best-in-class quality support Direction of team members Organize and supervise the activities of team members in a manner that supports self-management and continuous improvement Provide coaching, formal and informal feedback to team members in order to support their continuous development Self-Management Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure that the goals are monitored and achieved during the course of the year Take ownership of his/her own learning agenda by identifying development needs and address these gaps with an individual development plan, detailing the appropriate actions to be taken, in consultation with the reporting manager Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role Keep abreast of relevant professional/industry developments, new techniques and current topics through continued education and professional networks Policies, Processes & Procedures Implement and monitor approved Department policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost-effective services Optimization of policies, processes and procedures emphasizing digitization and paperless strategies Ensure compliance with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent Professional Certifications Relevant certification in software quality management such as CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst), CSTE (Certified Software Test Engineer) or equivalent is preferred Years of Experience 6 years of relevant experience in software quality management Nature of Experience 1 year in a position of progressively increasing responsibilities in software quality management Job Specific Skills Understanding of System Development Life Cycle Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, ASPABCDEF08, MVC, etc. Knowledge of technical troubleshooting Technical deployment understanding of troubleshooting methodologies, steps and tools Business Language Skills Fluent written and spoken English essential, Arabic preferred Communication and Interaction Skills Interprets or explains data or information to deliver messages to audiences not knowledgeable about the subject matter where information may be non-routine in nature ROLE DIMENSIONS People Management Direct Reports: not applicable Indirect Reports: not applicable Financial Responsibility Budget Supervised Operational Expenses (AED) Capital Expenses (up to AED) Projects Budgets (AED) MAJOR INTERACTIONS Internal All Smart Development teams External Industry Forums, Third Party Technology Consultants ABOUT US This is our story to the world.
