Safety Officer

Safety Officer

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines. Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits. Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company standards. Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions. Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness programs for staff and workers. Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to enforce safety protocols. Maintain safety documentation, permits, and incident records. Train and mentor junior safety officers and site personnel. Prepare and submit daily/weekly safety reports to management. Ensure availability and proper use of PPE and safety equipment. Respond promptly to emergencies and provide guidance on corrective measures.

Safety Officer Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5-7 years of experience

in construction or industrial safety (UAE experience preferred). NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA certification or equivalent is mandatory Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to train, supervise, and motivate site personnel. Ability to work on site with multicultural teams. Ability to work on site with multicultural teams.
