Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor / Civil Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction and fit-out projects. The role ensures that project costs are accurately estimated, controlled, and reported while maintaining compliance with legal and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQs) based on drawings and specifications. Analyze project requirements and determine cost-effective solutions. Participate in tendering processes, including preparation and evaluation of tenders.

2. Contract Management:

Draft, review, and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, standards, and company policies. Track variations, claims, and changes in project scope and submit valuation reports.

3. Procurement Support:

Liaise with the procurement team to ensure materials and services are purchased cost-effectively. Evaluate quotations and ensure best-value procurement.

4. Cost Control & Reporting:

Monitor project progress and expenditure against budget. Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts. Perform value engineering and cost-benefit analysis to optimize expenses.

5. Site Coordination:

Work closely with the site team to validate progress and quantity take-offs. Ensure proper documentation and measurements for invoicing and payments.

6. Quality and Compliance:

Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Review construction drawings and specifications to validate technical accuracy and quantity requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying or a related field. Minimum 1-5 years of experience in construction, civil projects Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Knowledge of FIDIC or other standard contract forms is a plus.
