Overview:
JOB SUMMARY
The Production Technology Engineer is required to handle the complexity and work-related activities related to oil & gas producers (both natural flow and artificial lift wells), water injection, water disposal wells starting from analysing, monitoring and working with key Weatherford and client personnel to recommend rejuvenation and optimization opportunities. This would typically include identifying surveillance gaps, Lift system optimization, piping optimization, chemical treatments, logging, and integrity assurance resulting in performance of remedial work for production enhancement. Usually working as part of an ISP and product line integrated team responsible for collaborating with clients to develop field optimization and rejuvenation plans.
Participates in short and long-range planning and take independent decisions for practical and economical problem-solving.
May supervise large groups containing both professional and non-professional staff or may exercise authority over a small group of highly qualified professionals in complex technical applications.

Decision Level:
  • Makes responsible decisions not usually subject to technical review, except those involving large sums of money or long-range objectives and takes action to expedite the assigned projects.

Supervision required:
  • Receives administrative direction based on organization policies and objectives. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with policy and co-ordination with other functions.

Authority Level:
  • Assigns and outlines work; advises on technical problems; reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Calls for recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of staff.


Responsibilities: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
QHSSE
  • Support Health, Safety and Environment applying the policies and standard within the engineering process.
  • Leads auditing initiatives and regularly monitors TP and PLs KPIs
  • Support continuous improvement through the documentation of best practices, lessons learned, technical alerts, etc.
Project Engineering
  • Lives by the Weatherford Management System to ensure well integrity and delivery within planned time and budget; and prepare corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Develop and fully implement Production engineering best practices, peer reviews and technology application during the planning, execution and closure phases for projects. Research and assess applicability of new technology to projects and support technical and/or business initiative that furthers the capabilities
o Perform Production Engineering studies to ensure optimum solutions are designed and recommended;
o Provide technical advise in Intervention operations including selection, design, planning and execution;
o Deliver timely and accurate assigned rejuvention and optimisation procedures that comply with applicable policies, standards and processes and industry best practices;
  • Prepares detailed production optimization programs at field, production station, production cluster, including but not limited to power analysis for the field lifting mechanism, power station replacement, water injection facilities improvement, feasibility analysis for the field production mechanism conversion, and supervise jobs in the field. Programs include:
o Analyze Open Hole and Cased hole logging petrophysical properties for production capability and monitors water saturation and aquifer levels in wells, proposes production enhancement using thru-tubing and bull heading stimulation techniques, analyze well testing parameters and prepares well inflow and skin damage analysis, well perforation density analysis, etc.
o Monitor production performance, diagnose any anomalies and recommend engineering solutions including well intervals plugging and reperforation, change in piping or lifting mechanism.
o Perform production optimization activities to ensure reliability and optimum well performance.
o Participate in project technical review and review proposals to ensure efficient/economic operations.
Champion new technologies aimed at productivity and efficiency
  • Works closely with reservoir engineering and acts as the liaison between well engineering teams and reservoir to guarantee well production to the desired levels. Is the main approver for the well completion design proposed by the well engineering teams.
  • Manage Weatherford products and services as well as third party vendors to comply with technical scope and providing oversight of operations by facilitating short-term planning and scheduling of personnel, equipment and services
  • Document and communicate learning from projects adequately
  • Identify deviations to Weatherford Policies and Standards and document the adequate management of change and/or exemption process
  • Acts as focal point for technical matters and is a liaison with his equivalent at the client side
  • Provides advise on matters related to operational contingencies and together with the Superintendent validate alternate plans
  • Focal point for all information in relation to the investigation of unscheduled events and non-conformance incidents.

  • Responsible for the technical competencies and capabilities of the engineering team. Develops training plans for the members of the technical team in conjunction with the Project & ISP Engineering Manager
  • Schedule project technical reviews at an agreed frequency with the Project & ISP Engineering Manager
Qualifications:
Commercial and Tenders
  • Support commercial aspect of projects by developing production baselines and economic analysis based in well inflow and production decline estimates including skin damage.
  • Prepares scenarios for field production or field optimization depending on selected well candidates.
  • Participate and provide guidance in selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers and equipment

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Required:
  • MSc/B.Sc in engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Production Engineer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of well production design and planning, Operations safety and well control principles, environmental regulations, and field operations.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Well versed with the widely used production engineering suite of softwares & MSOffice or equivalent

Preferred:
  • Relevant experience both field and office in production/Intervention engineering, preferably with an OFS Services Provider for Integrated Projects.
  • Relevant industry-related training
  • Fluent in more than one language
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY
  • Detailed understanding of production practices and procedures (planning, risk analysis, HAZOP, HAZID, roles of various asset team members, equipment, production program, log evaluation, production technology applications, reporting, wellsite personnel, fluids, well control, wellsite services, local regulatory, etc.)
  • Ability to organize and plan projects. Projects will often have technical and scope uncertainties and involve multiple phases and tight project timelines Strong communication organizing, trouble shouting And problem solving capabilities in constrained and/or demanding conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with diverse professionals comprising of clients, stakeholders, vendors, operations team, rig team and engineering peers
  • Practical and results orientated to deliver a plan encompassing all inputs that can be safely executed for given timelines. Mechanical aptitude and strong visualization capability required
  • Contribute to sustaining a positive, progressive and supportive team environment
  • Ability to apply and encourage a solution based approach. Solution based involves understanding the client needs and well problems and then investigating potential solutions which can be a change in well design, change in procedure or potentially the use of one or more common or specialty products.
