About the team

Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for their daily essentials. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we\'re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this booming space.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sr. Operations Lead to spearhead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within our network of dark stores. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for optimizing operational processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and excellence across our inventory management and operational functions.

What you\'ll do
  • SOP Development and Management:
  • Develop, lead, and manage the creation, implementation, and maintenance of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) across our dark stores network.
  • Regularly assess and update SOPs to incorporate process enhancements, industry trends, and evolving business requirements.
  • Inventory Accuracy and Management:
  • Oversee the rigorous reconciliation, cycle counting, and auditing of inventory to maintain optimal accuracy levels.
  • Lead efforts to investigate and rectify discrepancies in inventory levels, ensuring precise stock records and minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Develop insightful reports and actionable recommendations for the country operations teams by analyzing operational data and performance metrics.
  • Create automated reporting systems and dashboards to monitor inventory accuracy and overall operational performance.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across various operational functions to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and implement best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Foster strong relationships with country operations teams, product teams, and other relevant stakeholders within the organization.
  • Work closely with teams to identify and address operational challenges, aligning efforts towards optimized processes.
What you\'ll need
  • 3-4 years of experience in central operations, preferably in the Grocery industry or any FMCG.
  • Extensive experience in process management, operations, and SOP development, with a track record of successful implementation
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, Python
