Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
-Evaluate medical histories, clinical reports, and insurance applications to assess risk and determine eligibility.
-Make accurate, well-reasoned underwriting decisions in line with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
-Handle complex and high-value cases, providing guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters.
-Collaborate effectively with brokers, agents, and internal teams to clarify medical information and ensure smooth application processing.
-Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of underwriting decisions and rationale.
-Stay current on emerging medical trends, underwriting practices, and changes in insurance regulations.
-Contribute to the development and enhancement of underwriting guidelines and processes.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field.
Professional underwriting certification (e.g., ACII, AMII) preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years' experience in medical underwriting within life or health insurance.
-Proven experience handling complex cases with strong risk assessment skills.
Skills:
-Deep knowledge of medical terminology, clinical conditions, and risk evaluation.
-Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
-Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, brokers, and internal teams.
-Proficiency in underwriting systems and Microsoft Office.
-Ability to work independently while mentoring and guiding junior team members.
