The Role
Surbana Jurong (SJ) is currently seeking an Senior Medical Equipment Planner to join our dynamic and progressive team based in our Abu Dhabi Studio on a part-time basis.
As a Senior Medical Equipment Planner, you will be working collaboratively with the Healthcare Architecture, Interior Design and Building Engineering teams on the delivery of large-scale Healthcare projects in the Middle East, as well as well as supporting and mentoring our junior healthcare facility designers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the deliverables for the medical equipment planning team within the greater project deliverable schedule
• Advise the medical planners in the medical planning process within the design team to create department floor plan concepts reflective of operations
• Serve as the main point of contact for the client on medical equipment planning issues
• Understand and guide discussions on medical equipment needs
• Work with end users to lay out the medical equipment within clinical rooms, with an understanding of processes and workflows
• Ability to develop an item-by-item and room-by-room medical equipment BOQ
• Assist the coordination of all disciplines related to the medical equipment requirements & planning.
• Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
• Prepare equipment planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives as well as drawings and specification documents
• Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects and pursuits

Experience, Skills and Personal Attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering (Master's Degree preferred)
• Minimum 7-10 years' experience in medical equipment planning required, for greenfield projects, additions and/or remodels of healthcare facilities, as part of a bio-medical team and/or as a consultant.
• Clear understanding of medical equipment and how it is used and maintained
• Understanding of healthcare trends
• Understanding of design techniques, tools and principles involved in documentation of medical equipment in a healthcare project
• Strong presentation, communication, organizational, collaboration and communication skills
• Strong leadership, critical thinking, effective problem solving and decision-making skills
• Team player, adaptable with a positive attitude
• Strong computer skills (REVIT, MS Office Suite, Blue Beam)
• Must be willing to travel to locations across the Middle East
