We are seeking a highly experienced

Senior Mechanical Engineer

to join our dynamic consultancy team based in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems design and coordination across building projects, with at least

8 years of UAE-based experience

working in engineering consultancy environments.

The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of

HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems

, along with relevant UAE codes, authority approvals, and multidisciplinary coordination on medium to large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the

mechanical design

process for building services (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) from concept to IFC stage. Review and approve

design calculations, drawings, equipment selections

, and BOQs. Ensure compliance with

ASHRAE, NFPA, local municipality and civil defense standards

. Manage and coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and specialist engineers for

MEP integration

. Guide junior engineers and CAD technicians; review their deliverables for quality and accuracy. Prepare and review

technical reports, specifications

, and design documentation. Attend project meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. Support with

authority submissions (DEWA, DM, ADCD, Estidama, etc.)

and respond to technical comments. Perform site inspections, respond to RFIs, review shop drawings and material submittals. Ensure timely delivery of engineering packages as per project timelines.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred). Minimum 13 years of total experience,

with at least 8 years in UAE engineering consultancy firms

. Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and local authority regulations. Proficiency in

AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Elite, or similar software

. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience on

high-rise, commercial, residential, and government projects

preferred.

UAE driving license

is a plus.
