Job Purpose:

To improve the quality of Arabic Language learning and teaching and to promote the importance and value of the Arabic Language across the group and our communities. To support the broader work of the Group Head and Director of Education in advancing the value and prestige of the Arabic Language. To ensure that all our students are confident and proficient in their use of the Arabic language.

To support, upskill and develop the skills, knowledge and abilities of Arabic language teachers across the group, using data analysis, coaching, team teaching methods and robust monitoring and identification of gaps.

Main Duties:
  • Encourage and promote the Arabic Language across schools within the Aldar Education group.
  • Be an exemplary practitioner able to offer support and guidance to staff on learning and teaching to promote high standards of educational achievement.
  • To coach, team-teach and upskill school-based teams to improve student outcomes.
  • Liaise closely with outside agencies and other professionals to facilitate outstanding provision for students in schools.
  • To ensure Arabic resources are culturally appropriate and materials are used effectively.
  • To use data alongside teachers to improve outcomes for students and the group as a whole.
  • Support schools in raising the quality of learning and teaching in Arabic.
  • To provide quality assurance of Arabic language programmes across the AE school group.
  • To provide quality assurance of Arabic language teaching and outcomes to support monitoring at school level.
  • To support the identification of best practice and practitioners in the areas of Arabic Language from across the network and work alongside the various Learning Networks to provide individual school support where necessary.
  • To support the work of the Group Head and Director of Education with any special projects requiring Arabic Language support, materials, training and development work.
  • To lead network meetings across the AE group where appropriate and required that are focussed on improving Arabic language.
  • To support with annual evaluations of all schools with a focus on Arabic language.
  • To monitor action plans that come from schools after specific feedback is given.
  • To be the group focal point for Heritage, Culture and Identity.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties from time to time as the Director of Education may require.
  • To represent Charter when required.
Specific Duties:
  • Provide support to school-based MOE-related Heads of Departments to ensure each school in the group:
  • has robust development plans for Arabic language subjects.
  • develops and maintains accurate records and tracks every student\'s progress and attainment in Arabic.
  • review school assessment data and conduct assessments to identify priority areas and/or pupils for school based targeted intervention.
  • Use data to support teaching at school level.
  • plan and deliver a range of programmes of work to support individual and group needs.
  • manage compliance and relevant ADEK applications where necessary.
  • Provide CPD in Arabic to school staff that upskills teaching staff and improve student outcomes.
  • To work alongside the school SLT to coach and support individual teachers and groups of teachers in specific areas of teaching, learning and instruction.
  • Identify areas of strength and those requiring further development across the Aldar Education group of schools to support strategic planning.
  • Work alongside the education team members in Charter to support collaboration across all subject areas and any specific projects.
  • To regularly review the Arabic curriculum and ensure it is fit for purpose, robust and supportive of improving student outcomes.
  • Support school preparations for external inspections where necessary focussing specifically on Arabic language subjects.
  • To be responsible for Heritage, Culture and Identity across our schools, to ensure training to highlight the importance of this area for all staff.
  • To ensure schools have documents, plans and action planning in place to address and improve Heritage, Culture and Identity.
  • To have up to date knowledge of the most effective strategies, initiatives and expectations of Arabic, and all MoE subjects in Charter schools.
  • To ensure the annual ordering of Arabic resources is completed and within the schools given budgets.
  • To ensure that all schools have appropriate resources for all Arabic related projects and initiatives, within the schools given budgets.
  • To be the focal point for ADEK with regards to Arabic language subjects, Heritage, culture and Identity and any related initiatives for both curriculum, instruction and projects.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Arabic Language or Literature or other relevant qualification at this level
Minimum Experience:
  • At least 5 years leadership in a school setting.

  • Good English communication skills.
  • Ability to represent AE at all levels in Arabic-related matters
  • IB/International experience would be beneficial
  • Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday, where the tasks require additional commitment.
