Job Description

The Senior Manager - Human Resources Services will serve as the primary HR contact for their designated AUS departments to support them to achieve organizational results The position serves as a consultant and advisor to management on human resource related issues and assesses and anticipates HR related needs. The Senior Manager will formulate partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the university\'s objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Act as the interface between designated departments and the other HR functions, communicating stakeholder needs to provide high quality, business focused advice, guidance and support to management.
  • Actively monitor and review policies and procedures ensuring they are current, compliant and suitable for purpose. As needed, research best practice for policies and procedures and make recommendations to management and communicating any changes to all employees.
  • Identifying training needs of personnel within portfolio of assignment and liaising with AUS Talent Management to offer training as needed.
  • Work in collaboration with management to review and recommend organizational design to facilitate high performance through workforce planning, analyzing market trends, position control, job mapping and compensation packages to maintain employee retention. Also developing contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfer
  • Consult and advise management on employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary and performance, ensuring issues are handled fairly and consistently in line with AUS policy and legislation and always maintain confidentiality.
  • Work in collaboration with management and HR recruitment to establish effective attraction and sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Review and clarify employee classifications in order for employees to understand their employment status and benefits eligibility.
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assume other responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director Employee Services.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • A Minimum of five years of experience in progressively Human Resources roles
  • Demonstrated experience of multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations, organizational design, policies and procedures, compensation and reward
  • Ability to consult with management at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build rapport and manage effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • UAE National preferred.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience working in a Human Resource operation in the U.A.E. through which knowledge of UAE laws and practices may have been acquired.
  • Previous experience working in higher education.
