Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, agreements, deeds, and legal documents related to offshore projects, shipping, and logistics services.
  • Provide legal opinions, risk assessments, and due diligence support to commercial, project, operations, and logistics teams.
  • Define and structure contractual agreements between the company and external parties in compliance with UAE laws and regulations.
  • Formulate and implement contract policies and legal principles aligned with corporate governance standards.
  • Provide preventive and curative legal advice to minimize claims, disputes, and litigation risks.
  • Support contract and procurement functions with comprehensive legal services and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze contractor claims and recommend legally sound courses of action to protect company interests.
  • Participate in negotiation of dispute settlements, arbitration submissions, and coordination with external counsel.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting offshore, shipping, and logistics operations.
  • Supervise and mentor legal department staff to ensure high standards of legal practice and compliance.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Law; Master's degree in Law is an advantage.
  • Minimum 8 years of legal practice experience specializing in offshore, shipping, or logistics sectors.
  • Strong expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation within the Oil & Energy industry.
  • Current membership in a recognized law society or equivalent professional body.
  • Deep knowledge of UAE commercial and maritime law.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters independently and strategically.
