Key Responsibilities
Strategic Audit Delivery

  • Lead and execute audits across Investment Banking, Wholesale Banking, Global Transaction Banking, Global Corporate Finance, and Credit and Credit Risk functions in the UAE and international network
  • Deliver audits in line with the approved Annual Audit Plan, ensuring timely completion and escalation of potential delays or scope changes
  • Identify control weaknesses, assess root causes, and agree practical management action plans
Audit Execution and Methodology
  • Execute audits in accordance with Group Internal Audit policies, guidance notes, procedures, and practice standards
  • Maintain and update the Audit Universe for IB, WB, and Credit portfolios across jurisdictions
  • Prepare and maintain risk assessments for process streams and applicable subsidiaries, promoting periodic business self-assessments
  • Establish, update, and maintain audit programs within the central audit management tool
  • Assess governance, risk management, and internal controls for adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency
  • Evaluate data integrity, transaction processing reliability, asset safeguarding, and resource utilization
  • Review and finalize audit workpapers and reports; complete reporting within agreed timelines
  • Negotiate and document management action plans and track remediation to closure
People and Stakeholder Management
  • Provide guidance, on-the-job training, and knowledge sharing to junior auditors
  • Act as Audit Business Partner to IB, WB, and Credit leadership, maintaining regular engagement to identify emerging risks
  • Provide ongoing advisory input on governance, risk, and controls based on market best practices
  • Support investigations and special reviews assigned by Audit leadership
Budgeting and Performance
  • Monitor financial performance of assigned audit activities against budgets and report variances promptly
Continuous Improvement and Reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement of audit practices in response to regulatory changes and business evolution
  • Prepare accurate and timely audit reports that meet Group quality standards
  • Escalate significant findings promptly to Audit leadership and relevant stakeholders
Ideal Profile
  • Extensive experience auditing Investment Banking, Wholesale Banking, Transaction Banking, and Credit Risk activities
  • Strong understanding of corporate banking products, credit risk management, and regulatory environments in the UAE and relevant international jurisdictions
  • Proven ability to lead audits, influence change, and partner with senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
  • Experience with special investigations and advisory engagements is an advantage
