Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Senior Internal Auditor

with extensive experience in the UAE contracting and construction industry. The successful candidate will lead and execute internal audit assignments, assess risks, and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and UAE regulations. This role requires deep industry knowledge, analytical expertise, and the ability to provide actionable recommendations to enhance financial integrity, risk management, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, lead, and execute internal audit engagements across departments, projects, and functions within the contracting business. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, operational processes, and financial reporting in line with company policies and UAE regulations. Identify risks, gaps, and areas for improvement; recommend corrective and preventive measures. Review project cost controls, subcontractor payments, procurement processes, payroll, and contract management for accuracy, compliance, and transparency. Prepare clear, comprehensive audit reports with findings and actionable recommendations for senior management. Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on corrective action plans. Mentor and guide junior auditors, ensuring adherence to professional auditing standards. Collaborate with management to strengthen governance, internal control, and risk management frameworks. Stay up to date on UAE laws, VAT, IFRS standards, and industry-specific compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree is a plus). Professional certification such as

CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CA

(preferred). Minimum

5+ years of internal audit experience

within the UAE contracting/construction sector. Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, cost control, procurement, and compliance frameworks. Solid understanding of UAE labor laws, VAT, and financial regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Strong communication and report-writing skills in English (Arabic is an advantage). Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and MS Office tools. High level of integrity, independence, and attention to detail.
