brownfield oil & gas facilities
in the
Middle East
, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in
Qatar
and have experience with
Oryx GTL or similar clients
.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver
civil and structural design
across
Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design
phases for brownfield oil and gas projects.
Conduct
site surveys
and assessments to gather data for structural and layout design.
Develop
brownfield layouts
, including
drainage system design
and modifications to existing structures.
Perform
structural adequacy checks
for existing concrete and steel structures.
Provide technical input and review
architectural deliverables
for new buildings and site expansions.
Design
reinforced concrete and steel structures
, including
pipe supports, racks, platforms, and foundations
.
Prepare accurate
engineering calculations
using
STAAD Pro Connect
and
Mat3D
software.
Generate
Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
for procurement and planning.
Ensure full compliance with applicable codes and standards including
BS EN, ACI, AISC, ASCE, ASTM, Shell DEPs, and QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications)
.
Liaise with clients, participate in internal and external meetings, and ensure coordination with all engineering disciplines.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering
(Master's degree preferred).
Professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng, MICE) is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum
10 years of experience
in
brownfield civil & structural design
within the
oil & gas industry
.
Strong familiarity with
Middle East standards
, particularly
Qatar
.
Prior work with
Oryx GTL
or similar entities is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in
STAAD Pro Connect
,
Mat3D
, AutoCAD, and related design tools.
Strong understanding of international and local
civil/structural codes and standards
.
Experience in
drainage
,
foundation
, and
steel/concrete structural
design.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and client coordination skills.
Proven ability to manage tasks independently and work within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong analytical and documentation capabilities.

6 months (extendable based on project performance and requirements)
