Job Description

As a Civil Structural Engineer, your role will be to lead and oversee the civil and structural engineering design activities during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design (DD) phases for a major onshore oil & gas facility under ADNOC Onshore. The role ensures all designs meet ADNOC specifications, international codes, safety standards, and project objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and guide a team of civil/structural engineers and designers in preparing design deliverables for:

• Equipment foundations, substation buildings, pipe racks, shelters
• Site development: grading, roadworks, culverts, dikes, and drainage
• Underground services: stormwater, oily water, firewater, electrical/FOC trenches
• Review and approve technical deliverables such as:

• Design calculations, civil GA drawings, concrete and steel detailing, material take-offs
• Technical specifications, construction work packages, and civil discipline reports
• Ensure adherence to ADNOC Onshore standards, UAE civil codes, and international design standards (ACI, AISC, BS, ASTM, API, etc.)
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (Process, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, etc.) for integrated design development
• Conduct and participate in technical reviews:

• HAZOP, HAZID, 3D Model Reviews, Value Engineering, and Constructability Reviews
• Interface with ADNOC project representatives for TQ resolution, design clarifications, and approvals
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction planning, and vendor data reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and support internal technical development initiatives
• Ensure high quality of deliverables in line with project schedules, cost estimates, and safety standards

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters preferred)
• 12-20 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, primarily in the oil & gas / petrochemical industry
• Minimum 5 years experience on ADNOC Onshore or other UAE-based upstream/downstream projects
• Extensive experience in FEED and Detailed Design for onshore facilities, including early site works, structural steel design, and infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of software tools:

• STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Civil 3D
• Familiarity with 3D modeling tools (e.g., SP3D, Navisworks) and document control platforms
• Deep understanding of UAE site-specific challenges (soil, climate, codes)
• ADNOC-approved or pre-qualified engineer (Preferred)
• Strong leadership and communication skills (Preferred)
• Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities (Preferred)
• Experienced in technical bid evaluations and vendor document review (Preferred)
• Exposure to modularization, site grading, and brownfield modification is an advantage (Preferred)
• Familiar with risk assessments, sustainability considerations, and local permitting processes (Preferred)
