Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Designer focusing on civil and structural design for a major onshore brownfield project in Sharjah, UAE on a 6 weeks on /2 weeks off rotation cycle.


This is a full-time onsite role in Sharjah, UAE with possible travel.

Wood has been awarded an Onshore Brownfield project to support an International Client operation for delivering FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Services. This project focuses on enhancing degassing stations, optimizing flare systems, and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Objectives

Civil and Structural Design

Prepare and review civil and structural design deliverables (e.g., General Arrangement Drawings, civil earthworks drawings, structural drawings). Develop and maintain 3D models using E3D. Produce structural steel details and Material Take-Offs.

Site Survey and Data Gathering

Conduct extensive site surveys to gather data on existing infrastructure and facilities. Identify and document site constraints and potential design clashes. Verify site measurements and ensure accuracy of design data.

Interdisciplinary Coordination

Conduct interdisciplinary checks of Civil/Structural/Piping/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation drawings. Review vendor drawings for Equipment/Package items.

Technical Support and Coordination

Provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering, and construction. Assist in coordinating civil and structural activities.

Design and Documentation

Ensure compliance with industry, international, and client codes and standards. Maintain records of correspondence and work completed.

Expected:

Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering or HND.

Minimum 10+ years of experience in civil and structural design, with emphasis on brownfield projects.

Strong commitment to safety. Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.

Proficient in E3D, AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
