Role Summary:

The Senior Bid Manager is responsible for the leadership of the bids team through the effective implementation and management of a structured bid process that captures opportunities, develops bespoke solutions as per client requirements and has the ultimate aim of winning business.

The Senior Bid Manager will provide leadership and mentoring within the bids team, coordinate bidding activity with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that inputs are timely and up to standard and will provide regular reporting to the Senior Leadership Team on all bidding activity.

The role requires the proactive management of all relevant opportunities from qualification through to contract award, including managing the solution design, articulation of the value proposition, strategy development, key commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management.

Responsibilities also include identifying areas for improvement, reviewing and developing bid management processes, systems and procedures and ensuring adherence to all agreed bid governance processes.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop and coordinate effort across the team, as well as drive inputs from the wider team of specialists within Iqarus.
  • Ensure bid processes are in place and are adhered to by the bids team and other relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Counsel the bids team on various bid issues, make recommendations and intervene if required.
  • Lead the bid process for high-value, strategic and complex bids.
  • Responsible for the entire bid life cycle management for all Tenders/RFPs/RFQ received, including unsolicited opportunities identified by other members of the Iqarus team.
  • Responsible for requesting and coordinating inputs from all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the bid response articulates the key messages, value proposition, and differentiators.
  • Implement, manage, develop and adhere to the necessary bid procedures, systems, governance mechanisms and processes.
  • Ensure compliance to the bid qualification (bid / no bid) process.
  • Schedule periodic bid reviews in line with the bid process and obtain the necessary sign-off.
  • Conduct effective bid reviews, and maintain version control of all proposals and support documents development including the final submission.
  • Provide technical writing, editing, and proof-reading of all proposals prior to submission.
  • Conduct reviews on proposals prepared by other members of the bids team and advise on continuous improvement.
  • Responsible to ensure all bids comply with RFP requirements and are technically compliant.
  • Manage multiple bid and competing priorities through effective organisation and time management and ensure the timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids.
  • Manage the pre and post bid clarification phase with the client and internally.
  • Actively participate in the contract review post award through to the Handover Takeover Process (HOTO)
  • Ensure the effective management and access to all required supporting tools, templates and the bid library.
  • Work with the Director, Pricing & Contracts (Commercial Director) to ensure the submission of commercially sound and competitive bids.
  • Undertake specific projects as assigned by the Managing Director to ensure effective functioning of the bids team.
Qualifications
  • Typically, degree educated. Desirable - Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Certified.
  • Minimum of 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Bid Management
  • Proposal management software / system implementation and management experience
  • Bid team management experience within a government services organisation.
  • Project Management \xe2\x80\x93 high level skill set
  • Exceptional bid writing skills
  • Desirable - Medical industry experience
