Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality specialty coffee beverages with precision and consistency (espresso, pour-over, immersion brews, signature drinks, etc.)
Ensure proper calibration and daily maintenance of espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
Lead and support junior baristas through training, guidance, and quality control.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency behind the bar.
Engage with customers professionally, providing knowledgeable recommendations about beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
Manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, and bar supplies; communicate needs to management.
Monitor and uphold cafe service standards, including speed of service, drink quality, and presentation.
Participate in cupping sessions and ongoing training to maintain deep product knowledge.
Assist with creating new beverage recipes and contributing to menu development.
Handle cash register operations and follow all cafe policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum
2 years of experience
as a barista in a specialty coffee shop.
Strong understanding of specialty coffee from farm to cup, including processing methods, roast profiles, and flavor notes.
Proficiency in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and manual brewing techniques.
Excellent customer service skills and a welcoming, professional demeanor.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle peak-hour pressure.
