Senior Architect - Rail and Transport EWI are supporting a leading International Engineering firm who are requiring a Senior Architect for their rail & transport projects in the GCC Region. My client specialises in infrastructure development and transportation projects across the Middle East. With a strong reputation for delivering exceptional design solutions, they are committed to shaping the future of transportation infrastructure and enhancing connectivity in the region. We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architect to join the team and lead architectural design efforts for railway, airport, highway, and transportation projects in the region. The Senior Architect will play a crucial role in designing functional, innovative, and sustainable structures that meet the evolving needs of the transportation sector. Responsibilities:

• Lead the architectural design process for rail, airport, highway, and transportation projects, ensuring adherence to project requirements, design guidelines, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors, to develop comprehensive design concepts and plans that integrate architectural aesthetics, functionality, and safety.
• Create design proposals, architectural drawings, specifications, and presentations to effectively communicate design intent and solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct site evaluations, feasibility studies, and technical assessments to inform design decisions and identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and sustainability practices in all architectural designs.
• Guide and mentor junior architects, providing support and guidance throughout the design process.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to address design-related queries, resolve issues, and incorporate feedback into design revisions.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in architectural technology, and emerging best practices in transportation architecture.
• Collaborate with project managers and participate in design review meetings to ensure design objectives are met within defined project constraints.

Key requirements for the role:

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Regional experience is essential
• 10-15 years of industry experience
• Proven experience as a Senior Architect, specializing in transportation infrastructure projects, including rail, airport, highway, and transportation facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of architectural design principles, construction techniques, and building materials relevant to transportation projects.
• Strong proficiency in architectural software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modelling software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architectural design teams and coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Familiarity with GCC regulations, codes, and standards related to transportation infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex design ideas to clients and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
