Job Details:

Estimation and Design engineers perform various functions which primarily involve providing detailed estimates and construction drawings, specifications, scheduling and scope of work.
They are also responsible for the communication of estimation and design scope of work to PM, supervisors, and contractors/subcontractors in a clear and easy-to-understand manner

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing complete quantity estimates and studies for all deliverables involved in the assigned scope
Identify design and constructibility issues and analysis to determine constructibility
Define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed scope of the project
Responsible for preparing and assembling bids and proposals and drawings for various contract types
Determine required scope through the analysis of site conditions and all contract documents (plans specifications, etc.)
Measure and value the work done on-site
Collaborate with purchasing staff to ensure that General Conditions and Requirement items are appropriately captured in the estimate
Perform an assessment on subcontractor proposals to ascertain if the scope is covered and also manage the risk of scope gaps
Offer suggestions to the management or appropriate authority for contemplated expenditures
