The Role:

• Backend Architecture & Build: Design and implement scalable backend services for AI-native workflows in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Agent Framework Leadership: Build and scale LangGraph-based, multi-step LLM agent orchestration for insight generation and decision-making.
• Data Intelligence Pipelines: Develop secure ingestion and transformation flows for structured/unstructured financial data (filings, transcripts, PDFs) with automated parsing, summarization, and tagging.
• Model Integration & Optimisation: Benchmark, integrate, fine-tune, and optimise LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude) for performance, cost, and compliance, including model weight quantization for efficient deployment.
• Vector Retrieval Systems: Architect and manage vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) stacks.
• Cross-Platform Orchestration: Build automation pipelines integrating SaaS platforms, subscription feeds, and line-of-business systems.
• System Modernisation: Refactor and evolve legacy components into low-maintenance, AI-embedded architectures aligned with an AI-first vision.
• Automation & CI/CD: Maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines) with strong testing and monitoring practices.
• Performance Monitoring & Observability: Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and automated performance tracking for models, pipelines, and infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency at scale.
• Multi-Modal Data Handling: Develop capabilities to process and integrate multi-modal inputs (text, tables, charts, and audio transcripts) into AI workflows to enrich analysis and decision-making.

Required:

• Minimum 7 years in backend engineering (Python required), including 4+ years in AI/ML with proven delivery in AI powered systems from production to deployment
• Experience in fintech or investment management strongly preferred but not a deal-breaker.
• Skilled in designing secure, modular, and low-maintenance backend systems.

Technical Depth:

• AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph).
• Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus).
• Cloud environments: AWS, Azure, GCP, and emerging platforms (Modal).
• LLM fine-tuning and model weight quantization for optimisation and deployment at scale.

Nice to have:

• Financial data or KPI modelling experience.
• Azure Data Fabric or similar data lake experience.
• Multi-agent orchestration or autonomous system design.
