Salon Operations Manager
to act as the owner's right hand -- someone who ensures standards are consistently high, staff are motivated and accountable, and business KPIs are achieved across both branches.
Role Overview
This role is both
hands-on and strategic
. You'll be on the floor daily, observing, correcting, and coaching the team to deliver a luxury experience, while also managing KPIs, reporting results, and contributing to business growth plans. The Operations Manager will work closely with ownership, acting as a trusted partner to free the owner from daily micromanagement while ensuring both branches operate at the highest level.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Experience & Standards
Enforce "Lish DNA" service rituals: warm greetings, offering drinks, client comfort checks, upsell conversations, escorting clients out.
Monitor and correct staff behavior in real time to ensure a luxury experience every time.
Actively collect client feedback and resolve issues before they become reviews.
Staff Management & Motivation
Supervise staff daily, coach in real time, and hold them accountable to grooming, attendance, and service standards.
Run recognition systems: Technician of the Month, Best Seller, WhatsApp shoutouts, leaderboards.
Motivate staff through incentives, competitions, and career progression pathways (Junior ? Senior ? Master Technician).
Performance & KPIs
Track and report weekly/monthly on:
Branch revenue target
Upsells + retail sales (?20% of total revenue) target
Reviews target
Customer retention (?50% of new clients rebook within 30 days).
Provide ownership with clear reports + action plans (not just problems).
Conduct performance reviews, staff training and new skills
Operations & Efficiency
Manage staff schedules, bookings, Fresha/ClassPass optimization, and daily client flow.
Oversee inventory: ensure timely ordering, minimal wastage (<3%), and no stockouts.
Run monthly training sessions and ensure new hires are trained on Lish standards within 2 weeks.
Strategic Partnership with Owner
Work as the owner's right hand -- ensuring day-to-day standards so the owner can focus on scaling the brand.
Propose and execute improvements in operations, promotions, and client experience.
Help build scalable systems to make Lish "franchise-ready."
Requirements
Proven experience in salon/spa or luxury hospitality operations.
Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
Analytical mindset with experience tracking KPIs and driving results.
Hands-on manager: present on the floor, not just in the office.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Fluent in English
