The Sales Support Engineer provides technical and commercial support to the Modernization Sales team throughout all phases of the sales cycle. The role is responsible for analyzing client requirements, conducting site assessments, preparing accurate offers in accordance with project specifications, and ensuring that proposals comply with technical standards, cost structures, and company processes. The Sales Support Engineer acts as a liaison between Sales, Operations, Installation, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to secure profitable and technically sound solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical & Commercial Support
Review client inquiries, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to assess project requirements.
Conduct site visits, surveys, and modernization evaluations to collect accurate technical data.
Prepare technical proposals, cost estimations, BOQs, and full quotation/tender packages.
Ensure proposals comply with company guidelines, technical standards, and local elevator code requirements.
Coordinate with Operations to validate labor estimates, installation requirements, and feasibility.
Assist Sales Engineers with traffic analysis, equipment selection, and design-stage evaluations.
Project & Internal Coordination
Collaborate with Installation, Projects, Finance, and QHSE to gather all supporting documents required for tender submissions, including special approvals and performance/financial bonds.
Support the development of capital plans for customers aligned with long-term modernization strategies.
Upon award, prepare and submit technical submittal packages and follow through the approval cycle.
Issue and process change orders based on client or site requirements.
Sales Process & CRM Management
Maintain and update all leads, opportunities, and project information in the CRM system.
Ensure pipeline accuracy, documentation completeness, and proper archiving of all project files.
Support Sales Engineers in client meetings, presentations, and clarification discussions as required.
Compliance, Standards & Professional Knowledge
Adhere to all company safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of company products, modernization solutions, technical manuals, and supplier specifications.
Maintain working knowledge of local elevator code requirements and EN standards.
Participate in technical training sessions and continuous learning initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
Previous experience in the elevator or vertical transportation industry.
Demonstrated experience in technical analysis, modernization assessments, or sales engineering.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of elevator components, modernization solutions, EN standards, and traffic analysis methodologies.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, site layouts, and specifications.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in quotations.
Behavioral & Professional Skills
Customer-centric mindset with strong communication skills (oral and written).
Solid problem-solving skills and ability to manage conflicts effectively.
