The Sales Manager will lead and drive the sales strategy for the freight forwarding and logistics division, focusing on acquiring new customers, expanding existing accounts, and delivering revenue growth across air, sea, and land freight services. The role involves team leadership, client relationship management, and strategic market development to ensure sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets in freight forwarding and logistics.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across air, sea, and road freight sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and potential customers.
Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with clients.
2. Team Leadership & Management
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective targets.
Monitor sales performance and provide regular coaching and feedback.
Set clear KPIs and ensure accountability within the sales department.
3. Market Intelligence & Strategy
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
Develop pricing strategies and marketing plans in coordination with operations and finance teams.
Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions.
4. Operational Coordination
Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure service quality and client satisfaction.
Ensure smooth handover of new clients to the operations team for service execution.
Oversee credit control measures for customer accounts in coordination with finance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in sales within freight forwarding/logistics, including at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, INCOTERMS, and customs clearance procedures.
