Safety Officer / HSE Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer (HSE Officer) with a solid background in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will ensure that all safety regulations are followed, risks are minimized, and a safe working environment is maintained for all staff and contractors on site.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on construction sites. Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Provide safety induction and training sessions for workers and subcontractors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions. Maintain and update safety documentation, including risk assessments, safety logs, and incident reports. Coordinate with site management to ensure all safety requirements are integrated into daily operations. Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it meets safety standards. Promote a culture of safety awareness among all staff and workers.

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of proven HSE experience in the construction industry. Knowledge of local safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is preferred. Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple safety priorities.

Work Conditions:

Full-time, site-based role. Requires regular fieldwork and interaction with construction teams
