One of our leading Construction industry clients in the UAE is looking for a Safety Manager - Testing.

The Test Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that all tests are conducted with hazards and risks managed to an ALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practicable) and Tolerable level. The Test Safety Manager is not responsible in any way for the delivery of tests \xe2\x80\x93 purely for the safe operation of tests.

Responsibilities

Other responsibilities will include:

• Ensure that there is an effective hazardous activities policy and associated processes in place and used at the Range.

• Review all safety paperwork and confirm with Capability Manager to approve or deny approval to all tests

• Chair weekly hazardous activity scrutiny panels

• Work with clients and test specialists to ensure weapon danger area and safety trace is accurate and auditable

• Work with Air Force to establish safe systems of work with air ranges

• Work with MOD and Army to establish safe ways of working with explosives, ammunition, and firearms.

• Attend tests on an ad-hoc basis to ensure that tests are being conducted in accordance with test plans and agreed safety traces

• Oversee Range Control activities to ensure that Range Safety is paramount

• Be the point of contact for the Range with regard to all test safety issues

• Work with the Occupational Health and Safety Advisor to ensure that all tests have suitable and sufficient risk assessments associated with them

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:

Qualifications

Degree level education or Engineering or Science (Physics) Degree.

Requisites:-

Knowledge of weapons testing

Safety Engineering experience

Range design knowledge

Practical safety engineering experience

• Hazardous activity safety management experience (such as the Oil and Gas industry)

• Understands military operations in the United Arab Emirates

Should have a Driving License, Strong communication and training skills, document development skills, leadership qualities, Physically fit and sound, and Fluency in English.

Arabic speaker - desirable
