PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is looking for a person with experience in Safety Management to support the Post Holder Safety in conducting the effective implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) as per the GCAA regulatory requirements. In this role the job holder will be exposed to the dynamic and challenging environment that brings unique experience and helps to develop multiple professional skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the position include (not limited to):
1. Safety policy and objectives
Liaise with counterparts at airlines, airports, contractors on Safety matters
Keep the SMS documentation up-to-date
Participate in development and promotion of a just and positive safety culture
Deputize the Post Holder Safety in industry bodies and stakeholder meetings
2. Safety risk management
Facilitate hazard identification and risk analysis
Assign safety actions, follow-up on implementation
Facilitate the internal safety forums (e.g. Safety Action Groups) and manage the outputs
Support Post Holders and their team members in safety matters
Monitor aviation industry, trends and hazards, recommend the internal mitigating actions
Escalate significant safety issues to the Post Holder Safety, as necessary
3. Safety assurance
Perform initial assessment and categorization of safety reports
Monitor the Management of Change records and escalate to Post Holder Safety, as necessary
Develop, implement and review the existing Safety Performance Indicators and Hazards
Identify and monitor Safety Objectives and Safety Performance Indicators
Submit Mandatory Occurrence Reports and other reports to GCAA, follow-up and on-time closure
Contribute to improvement of Integrated Management Software
4. Safety promotion
Contribute to preparation of safety communications, periodic safety updates and bulletins
Track validity of safety trainings for key management personnel (e.g. Post Holders) and assign recurrent trainings in timely manner
Contribute to the improvement of the SMS training programme, and identification of training needs for key management personnel
Distribute information as appropriate to ensure an organizational awareness of relevant flight safety issues
5. Emergency response
Contribute to implementation and development of the Airline Emergency Response Plan
REQUIREMENTS:
Completed university or college degree is a must
Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation, with 2 years in Safety domain either Flight Operations or Aviation technical / maintenance background would be an advantage
