What Is the Role of a Retail Supervisor in Dubai?
A Retail Supervisor plays a vital role in store operations by supporting the Department Manager and Store Manager in day-to-day activities. You will be responsible for staff development, POS operations, compliance, and ensuring customers receive a seamless shopping experience while contributing to budget goals and brand image.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience and Sales
- Deliver outstanding customer service and assist shoppers with product knowledge
- Rotate through departments as needed to support business needs
- Guide customers on merchandise selection, promotions, and product features
Operational Support
- Serve as the Duty Manager and oversee store security, opening, and closing routines
- Train and supervise staff on Point of Sale (POS) systems and resolve issues
- Ensure stock is received, displayed, and maintained as per merchandising guidelines
- Support stock takes, promotional events, and new store launches
Compliance and Visual Merchandising
- Ensure product ticketing and pricing align with brand and store policies
- Promote merchandising standards that maintain the store's brand image
- Implement visual display strategies and assist with seasonal updates
People Development and Team Leadership
- Coach and support Sales Assistants in daily responsibilities
- Promote brand values and ensure team collaboration for sales success
- Share feedback with management on team performance and improvement areas
What Qualifications and Experience Are Needed?
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail environment, preferably in fashion or lifestyle brands
- Previous experience supervising or leading a retail team is a strong advantage
Skills:
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform some lifting
- Excellent customer service mindset with a hands-on approach to sales
- Knowledge of current retail trends and market positioning in fashion
