Retail Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Retail Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of retail construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing new store builds, remodels, and renovations across multiple locations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage all phases of retail construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, permitting, procurement, construction, and close-out.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with architects, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality execution and adherence to timelines.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets; track expenditures; approve invoices; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed project schedules; monitor milestones and adjust timelines as necessary to avoid delays.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction work meets company specifications, local codes, safety regulations, and brand guidelines.
  • Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are being met.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders including operations, real estate, and finance teams.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement proactive measures to minimize impact to project timelines or costs.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of contracts, change orders, RFIs, and other critical project documents.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on retail environments.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, codes, and regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent retail projects across different regions.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent organizational, budgeting, and scheduling skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with national or franchise retail brands.
  • PMP, CCM, or LEED accreditation a plus.
