Job Description

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:
Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries to verify the quantity and quality of items.
Organize and arrange stock in designated storage areas to ensure efficient space utilization.
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory.
Ordering and Replenishment:
Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders to replenish stock as needed.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of ordered items.
Work closely with the kitchen and other departments to understand their needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular quality checks on stored items to ensure freshness, proper labeling, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Report any discrepancies or issues with received goods to the relevant department heads.
Documentation and Reporting:
Keep detailed and organized records of all transactions, including receipts, invoices, and inventory counts.
Generate regular reports on inventory levels, consumption, and any variances for management review.
Communication:
Collaborate with the kitchen, restaurant manager, and other relevant staff to understand their inventory requirements and preferences.
Communicate effectively with suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
Organizational Support:
Assist in conducting regular physical inventory counts.
Work with the finance department to reconcile inventory records with financial data.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving inventory management processes.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a storekeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the restaurant industry.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.
Ability to lift and move heavy items when necessary.
