Job Description

As a Restaurant Hostess at Rosa's Thai, you will be the first point of contact for our valued guests, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Your friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail will create a positive and memorable dining experience for our customers. You will be responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and assisting with various front-of-house tasks to ensure efficient and smooth restaurant operations.

Responsibilities:

Guest Reception and Seating:

Greet guests warmly and manage seating based on reservations and availability. Provide wait times during peak hours and manage guest expectations.

Reservation Management:

Handle reservations via phone, email, or in-person, ensuring accurate bookings. Maintain and update the reservation system regularly.

Customer Service:

Assist guests with inquiries, menu recommendations, and special requests. Ensure guest satisfaction and address concerns promptly.

Waiting Area and Host Stand:

Keep the waiting area and host stand clean and tidy. Ensure menus and promotional materials are available for guests.

Menu Knowledge:

Understand the restaurant's menu, including sushi dishes and allergens. Provide informed assistance to guests.

Coordination with Service Team:

Communicate with the service team for smooth guest flow and table turnover. Inform servers of special requests.

Sequence of Service Implementation:

Implement the restaurant's service sequence for a seamless dining experience. Coordinate with the service team to follow each step efficiently.

Reservation Reminders and Follow-ups:

Send reservation reminders and follow up with guests post-dining for feedback.

Handling Guest Concerns:

Address guest concerns diplomatically and escalate significant issues to management.

Cash Handling:

Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.

Restaurant Presentation:

Maintain the cleanliness and attractiveness of the dining area.

Skills Required:

Customer Service:

Friendly and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills.

Strong verbal skills, able to convey information clearly and courteously.

Organization:

Effective management of reservations and guest flow in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Cuisine Knowledge (preferred):

Familiarity with the restaurant's cuisine is advantageous but not required.

Experience (preferred):

Previous experience in a hostess or customer service role is desirable.
