Position Overview
This Resident Engineer - Wet Services role in Abu Dhabi supports major building and infrastructure developments, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality installation of plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems. The position oversees site supervision, technical coordination, inspections, and engineering review to ensure wet services systems meet AECOM standards and UAE regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve wet services designs, including plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Ensure all wet services comply with UAE building codes, authority regulations, and project specifications.
• Coordinate design integration with architects, structural teams, MEP disciplines, and contractors.
• Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and construction progress.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges related to wet services on active construction sites.
• Review and prepare technical reports, design documents, method statements, and specifications.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, procurement activities, and resource allocation.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and field technicians.
• Stay updated on industry developments, wet services technologies, and best practices.
• Ensure seamless coordination between project stakeholders, contractors, and consultants.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure proper closeout of wet services-related deliverables.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in wet services engineering for buildings or infrastructure.
• Strong technical background in plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Knowledge of UAE codes, authority approvals, and construction practices.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design and drafting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving complex site issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-team collaboration.
• Proven experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, and project management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
• Willingness to travel across Abu Dhabi for site visits and inspections.
