JD: Resident Engineer
Role: RE is responsible for all planning aspects of a project. To implement and maintain project engineering records, monitor, and expedite weekly reports for accuracy, and develop and perform quality control procedures.
Requirements
Technical Competencies
Essential
Minimum Bachelors in Civil Engineering qualified
Minimum of 15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Civil engineering or as RE
Previous site supervision RE experience
Understanding of British, American, and international design standards. Working knowledge of ICAO standards would be a distinct benefit.
Good communication skills in written and spoken English essential.

Responsibilities
Report to the Area Director and will be assisted by the structure\xe2\x80\x99s inspectors and land surveyors
Assist in checking the contractor\xe2\x80\x99s submissions and shop drawings
Assist in responding to the contractor\xe2\x80\x99s requests for information
Liaise with the inspectors, materials technicians, and land surveyors to ensure timely processing of the contractor\xe2\x80\x99s requests for inspection (RFI) to ensure there are no undue delays
Assist the Planning Engineer to prepare the monthly status reports
Monitor contractor compliance with QSE \xc2\xb7 Ability to speak Arabic would be a distinct advantage
Contractor Interface
Follow up inspections of the works and material delivered at site is as per the Contractor\xe2\x80\x99s Inspection Test Plan.
Site Operations Department Interface
Coordinate leave request and discuss leave cover with the SITL.
Liaise with OMSOD for all HR / Finance / Administrative issues.
Functional Duties
Assume responsibility of the inspection of civil / architectural works in the project.
Monitor performance of the contractor / sub-contractor and identify, raise any quality /
workmanship concerns with the SQE / RE.
Review quality procedures and effectively implement QA/QC plans across the project.
Identify any particular site safety issues and bring to the notice of the contractor / SHSEE / RE.
Carry out, witness all tests carried out by the contractor on-site and off-site tests.
Inspect the works, on-site material, off-site material to be used in the project
Line Management / Administrative Duties
Update and maintain the latest revision of all project documents
Review, coordinate and forward submittals, inspection requests, technical query to the project team and/or discipline engineers.
Assist the project site team during internal, external and site surveillance audits.
Coordinate leave request and discuss leave cover with the SITL.
Prepare and regularly (daily) submit reports and maintain records.
