Resident Engineer

Job Description

+ Responsible for administration of construction contract works, and assist the SRE with prompt exchange of correspondence, submittals, and RFI's to all contractors.
+ Orient, assign, and supervise the construction inspection staff daily so that all contractor activities are adequately covered.
+ Supervise and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities. Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with contract documents.
+ Coordinate the interface of the construction work with other contractors on the site. Orient inspectors to verify that contractor is following his approved site Health & Safety plan.
+ Always review the contractor's progress. Monitor the material incorporated in the work, the materials stored at the site, and the contractor's manpower and equipment.
+ Attend weekly, monthly, and other progress meetings held at the site. Identify constraints and recommend corrective measures.
+ Review inspector's daily reports and preparation of engineer's daily diary, and general oversight of inspector's daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance, and guidance on the supervision of the contractor's operations.
+ Coordination with contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.
+ Continuous inspections and consultation with the SRE including the preparation of written and oral reports to the SRE on contractual and procedural matters.
+ Report to the Senior Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of civil/water works and associated items.
+ Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
+ Reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the utility section and prepare replies for the review of the Senior Resident Engineer.
+ Coordinate with design engineers for resolution of related issues.
+ Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
+ Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
+ Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
+ Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
+ Prepare the Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
+ Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.
+ Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist site team to issue site instructions with respect to water works and associated items.
+ Check and measure the performed work in his line of work, record and display progress vs. programmed work.
+ Ensure correctness and completeness of 'as-built' drawings within his line of work.
Minimum Requirements
+ 20 years experience overall
+ 10 years experience in the UAE
