Position Overview
ADNOC Group is seeking an experienced Reservoir Simulation Engineer to update and generate black oil and compositional simulation models, supporting field development planning and reservoir management. The role involves conducting simulation studies, applying advanced recovery methods, and providing technical input to maximize recovery and ensure alignment with ADNOC's sustainability and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain full-field reservoir simulation models, including history matching and prediction.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure consistency between simulation and geological models.
  • Perform reservoir fluid characterization and EOS modelling, including calibration.
  • Convert black oil models to compositional models and troubleshoot convergence issues.
  • Support IOR/EOR projects including water injection, immiscible/miscible gas injection, surfactant, and polymer flooding.
  • Apply deterministic and probabilistic methods for reserves estimation (Mbal, DCA, simulation sensitivities).
  • Conduct reservoir studies to optimize field development, including infill wells, pilots, and advanced well design.
  • Integrate PVT, SCAL, and reservoir monitoring data for accurate simulation and management decisions.
  • Liaise with contractors for reservoir studies, reviewing results and implementing recommendations.
  • Ensure periodic recalibration of simulation models with production and injection data.
  • Contribute to training and development of junior staff within the department.
  • Support compliance with ADNOC HSE standards and sustainability framework.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Reservoir, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in reservoir engineering, including field development and full-field simulation.
  • Proficiency in reservoir simulation software such as Eclipse and Intersect.
  • Strong knowledge of reservoir and production operations.
  • Expertise in material balance, pressure transient analysis, and well performance.
  • Solid background in PVT modelling and analytical reservoir characterization.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to reservoir management strategies.
Skills Set
