Research Assistant Professor (open Rank) In Sustainability Management

About the Position: We have an open rank position forambitious scholars, who can lead research, teach, and create long-lasting partnershipsat the CEOE to help advance Qatar\xe2\x80\x99s net zero transition and decarbonization goalsas per Qatar national vision 2030. Applicants must demonstrate excellencein research and teaching, combined with deep expertise in several of thefollowing areas: net-zero and low carbon transitions, circulareconomy, sustainability metrics including Life-cycle assessment (LCA) and ecologicalfootprint analysis, industrial ecology, carbon pricing and carbon markets,corporate social responsibility and environmental social governance, corporatesustainability strategy, and economic development and innovation. Preference will be given to candidateswith a strong academic and teaching record. Prior industry experience is a plus. In addition, to research andteaching we are looking for a candidate prepared to advance partnerships and buildthe international profile of the CEOE. Main Duties:
  • Publishing in highlyranked international academic journals and business outlets;
  • Designing andconducting sustainability projects and communicating findings to keystakeholders across the globe;
  • Developing anddelivering research project in cooperation with CBE faculty and other collegesinside Qatar University;
  • Conducting researchprojects with external partners in the industry as well as scholars frominternationally recognized universities;
  • Applying andsecuring grants from different regional and international funding bodies;
  • Providing guidanceand support to help researchers identify, maximize, and convey the impact oftheir research and enterprise projects;
  • Developing,designing, and delivering teaching and student-centered learning in sustainabilityfor undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Supervising MBA andPhD students;
  • Contributing tovarious activities and administrative assignments in the center and the college;
  • Serving the communityinside and outside Qatar University;
  • Provide specialistexpertise, consultancy, and training to the community at large.
Qualifications
  • A doctorate degree in sustainability management or related discipline such as economic development and innovation, industrialecology/ecological economics from an accredited University;
  • A proven record ofreceiving extensive training on sustainability in well-known programs;

Experience:
  • Distinguished recordof published research of international quality;
  • Experience in working with industries and providing consultingservice in sustainability;
  • Experience in getting research grants will be favorable;
  • A proven record of teaching experience;
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning;
  • Previousexperience working in interdisciplinary teams and willingness to collaborateacross the university.
  • Having expertise in one the following areas is an advantage: netzero and low carbon transitions, circular economy, sustainability metricsincluding LCA and ecological footprint analysis, industrial ecology, carbonpricing and carbon markets, corporate social responsibility and environmentalsocial governance, corporate sustainability strategy, innovation, and economicdevelopment.
  • Industryexperience in sustainability management and strategy is a plus.
